Carnock Community Eco-Garden

At present, we have an area of land to the rear of Carnock Primary School that is completely unused. We aim to transform this area into an Eco-garden that can be used by children and adults in the community for a variety of purposes. We will be working in partnership with local groups and clubs within the community of Carnock in the development of the Eco-garden. We want everyone to be involved in transforming this unused area into an outdoor learning environment where we can: - encourage positive attitudes towards caring for and respecting our local environment. - Learn about native trees, plants, flowers, insects and other wildlife. - Develop skills in planting and growing. - Foster a sense of responsibility in our young people through the maintenance of our garden. - Develop enterprising skills, creativity, problem solving, collaborative learning, understanding of sustainable development and most importantly, making learning more enjoyable.
