Carterknowle Methodist Church, Sheffield – Improvements (50014/D)

The project aim is a planned renovation programme and includes works to the ground floor rear schoolroom building that currently accommodates the café, toilets, kitchen, Sunday school rooms and main hall.

Phase 1 will provide: a new modern kitchen facility, better equipped to serve the cafe, a bright modern cafe area open to everyone four days a week, a new welcoming hallway/foyer, with improved access for people with disabilities and children in push chairs and which includes dedicated toilet facilities for cafe customers and other building users – including WC facilities for disabled. There will also be dedicated toilet/changing facilities for toddler groups within the space currently occupied by the toddlers. Increased storage space for all users. A safe external play space/ garden in an area with no accessible green space. Utilities will also be upgraded as part of this to meet current regulations and improve energy efficiency

The Trust grant will contribute towards the community improvements.
