Castleton Community Woodland

Project to screen landfill site, utilising a native broadleaf woodland planting scheme.
Interspersing of the planting will allow a variety of habitats for flora and fauna to flourish.
New woodland will allow linkage between state owned woods to north with the remnants of Ligerton Burn. Wildlife corridors will be established in the medium term through this linkage.
Significant contribution to the biodiversity of the area and conservation of the location. Species include Birch ,Alder, Willow,Rowan,Oak,Ash,Hawthorn and native Scots Pine
