Central Park Playground Aerial Runway Replacement

The playground at Central Park has been at the site since 1996. It provides a large range of equipment catering for all age ranges and is the major facility within the Borough. Due to budget cuts we had been unable to fully refurbish the playground and have been looking for funding to gradually replace further items as the need arises which is why a replacement Aerial Runway has been identified as the next key piece of equipment that needs replacement having reached its 20 year lifetime expectancy. The Council have previously undertaken several repairs to the unit and safety surfacing underneath the aerial runway but this has reached a stage of needing completely re-doing. The funding will be used to cover the cost of the whole replacement project alongside the Councils repainting of the remaining units to ensure the playground continues to be safe and looks aesthetically pleasing to our users.
