Chance to Grow – Building Reedbed Enclosures at Langford Lowfields

The project involves planting of reed seedlings across 32 hectares of water and protecting it with a galvanised weldmesh. The reed seedlings have been cultivated in a polytunnel on site and it is expected that 20,000 seedlings will be planted each year. The project is part of a nationwide project to create a network of stepping stones of suitable habitat linking East Anglian bittern population with the birds in Lancashire
