Changing Landscapes, Changing Lifestyles

The Lambhill Garden – which will lay out a community fruit and vegetable garden adjacent to Lambhill Stables currently a derelict site in an area of multiple deprivation. We propose to lay this garden out in 2005-06 as an ‘early action’ precursor to the later development of the Stables building itself. As well as laying out the garden as a standalone facility, this development will allow CHT and its partner organisations to build community ownership, participation and involvement in the processes of the more extensive development of the stables, the garden and the canal in an area where community structures are poorly developed. We believe that ‘hands-on’ involvement in planning, laying-out, and working the garden will be a powerful and practical way of building local community interest and ownership. This amenity is alongside Possil Marsh a nature reserve and SSSI
