Channelsea Path – habitat and access improvements

Lea Rivers Trust are proposing to assist the Borough in changing the perception that Channelsea Path is neglected and unsafe by improving the value to wildlife and people by removing the invasive and overwhelming buddleia, sycamore and other dominant species and introducing a planting plan that will involve creating over 200 metres of mixed native hedgerow and clearing the rubbish that has accumulated over the years. The path is dominated by tall imposing buddleia bushes that have years of rubbish and othe debris trapped beneath them, the buddleia also hides some of the paths architectural features such as the old river walls
