Chapel Project

The Chapel Project is to restore the listed Grade II early Victorian decorated gothic style funeral chapel at Ford Park Cemetery, Plymouth. The Chapel was designed by J R Hamilton and James Medland and completed in early 1849. It is significant nationally as the only surviving cemetery chapel designed by these architects.
The building is in urgent need of restoration and, following works, will continue to be used as a funeral chapel and as a venue for concerts, lectures, and family events. It is already part of Plymouth’s built heritage and it is hoped it will become a much loved and used community space.
