Chase Hill Wood – Nature Reserve

This is a 3 year project which will engage volunteers in the creation of access to and the rejuvenate of this 9.6 hectare woodland site for the benefit of the community and as a wildlife resource and in so doing achieve Local Nature Reserve status.
The project will recruit and train volunteers,including those unemployed,in skills needed to carry out aoppropriate direct management and improvement works on the site.
The project will run a series of 15 taster events,workshops and community days on the site to engage and recruit volunteers.
Run a series of 10 training events to develop the skills of the volunteers to undertake the practical work,to include power tool training,first aid,risk assessment.
Provide 100 days of volunteering opportunties to carry out the practical improvemnet work on the site,to include footpath and access improvement,woodland management,drainage works,fencing and hedge planting
