Chedworth Roman Villa – Suspended walkways

Chedworth Roman Villa was discovered in the 1860s and opened to the pubic in 1924. It is a major site of the Roman period in Britain. The project will create a series of suspended walkways through the new cover building, to greatly improve visitor access to the Roman remains in the west range. The walkways will be constructed from timber and metal, designed to allow maximum visibility of the surface below. The walkways will allow visitors to walk directly above Roman mosaics and fully explore the remains for the first time. It will greatly improve physical access for all visitors and enable wheelchair access for the first time.
