Christ Church Walkley, Sheffield - Community Hall Refurbishment (008315)

The Project intends to improve both the quantity and quality of the space in the memorial hall. Works are planned throughout the building, with the largest single architectural move being to enclose the end of the hall to create new storage and two additional meeting rooms. The works have planning permission and listed building consent with references 25/00810/FUL and 25/00811/LBC, which include:
• New rooms to create extra space for groups of different sizes to meet in throughout the week
• An office space for staff to meet and work together and allow the staff team to grow
• Roof insulation & new heating systems to reduce energy use & carbon emissions & make the building warmer
• Audio & visual improvements including the installation of an induction loop making events more accessible to people with visual & hearing impairments
• An improved kitchen that allows larger groups to be catered for.
• Replace main doors to improve insulation
It is anticipates that the improved insulation, heating systems and energy efficient lighting, new main doors and improvements to the entrance lobby will also reduce the environmental impact and costs: this will benefit all current users & allow resources to be redirected towards greater community use of the building throughout the week.
