Christ Church Yardley Wood Centre, Birmingham – Improvements (006144)

The Centre was opened as a community centre in 1974 and forty years on, the centre is in need of renovation. Currently, the Centre has very limited disabled access (only flat access is through the back of the car park through the fire exit – not very welcoming) and the disabled toilet is located in the opposite far corner of the centre footprint.

The applicants propose to reorder the Centre: install a disabled ramp to the main door; build a new disabled toilet, relocating current toilet facilities; modernise and extend the current kitchen facilities (which would mean extending the kitchen into the current office); build a staircase and make use of the mezzanine level above the lounge.
