Church Building Renovation

Gospel Assembly Church (GAC) has been actively operating in London, Luton, and Surrey with the mission of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. The organisation purchased the building, located in Redhill in October 2024 for £500,000. Constructed in 1890 by the Salvation Army, the two storey, flat roof building has a congregational hall and mezzanine gallery seating area, a secondary hall, kitchen, toilet, three small office/meeting rooms, and three allocated parking spaces. Whilst the building is structurally sound, it requires significant improvement due to damage from damp, black mould and vandalism since its closure. The heating system is also outdated and unsafe. Once renovated, GAC plan to utilise the building on Sunday mornings, Thursday afternoons, and Wednesday and Friday evenings for congregational purposes (and for a monthly community luncheon). GAC would like to offer services to the community between 9:30am and 3pm Monday to Friday, and Sunday between 8:00am and 6:30pm for council ran breakfast/after school club, coffee mornings and luncheons, bereavement support, job club, playgroup, exam tutoring and events such as weddings, birthday parties, fairs and festivals. Door to door survey to obtain support suggests that the local community is pleased to see the building come into use as it has become a target for squatters, vandalism and vermin.
