Circular Walk to Segsbury Camp

This project will improve a safe circular walk to Segsbury Camp, an Iron Age hillfort on The Ridgeway National Trail. This will be achieved by linking the definitive footpath (275/13/10) and bridleway (275/6/30) to Warborough Road with permissive paths across Warborough Farm. As part of the project, but not included within this grant request, the landowner will be installing signage that will lead users to Segsbury Camp, situated at the top of the farm. The project will improve the way that walkers can navigate their way both safely and clearly across the farm. The permissive paths are not currently marked and have no clear routes which causes confusion. The current stiles and gates are also now very old and are unsafe. These issues will be addressed by installing three new gates which will replace old stiles, and erecting clear metal signage.
