Clapton Square, Hackney – Play Area Refurbishment (007481)

The project aims to update the play area so that it provides a fun space for both older and younger children. Widening the appeal of the play area will help to combat the high levels of childhood obesity in the ward.
Meadow and perennial planting will improve biodiversity, providing colour and seasonal interest. Provision of high quality greenspace is very important in the area as 51% of residents live in socially rented accommodation, the majority without access to a garden.
