The Lido is in need of rehabilitation as it is suffering from severe environmental problems which are in need of addressing, such as dangerously high levels of toxin blue green algae present in the water. The Lido is a shallow manmade water body located within Clarence Park, a residential area heavily used by the public. The Lido itself is a valuable public amenity mainly used for angling, model boating and bird feeding
