Cleator Moor MUGA Project

The aim of this project is to install a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) on the local park in Cleator Moor.
The Friends of the Park Community Group started life in February 2006 with the aim of developing a piece of waste land in the centre of a Cleator Moor estate that was becoming a bit of an eyesore. There were also fears that it could potentially become a danger to children with people using it to drive quad bikes and motorcross bikes on.
Over the course of 2006 and into 2007 the Group has managed to have the land fitted with new drainage and it has been levelled and reseeded so that the children can play safely.
After some community consultation it was highlighted that the recreational youth provision in the village needed to be addressed and subsequent meetings with the young people in the area identified that a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) was required.
