Close Park Sensory Garden – Art Works

The project aims to implement community art workshops and ground works to create `Living Garden’ mosaics and a `Make Your Mark’ floor spiral as part of the Sensory Garden within Close Park, Radcliffe.
Phase 1 of the Sensory Garden created raised beds containing plants to stimulate the senses. Current park user groups include hospice residents, walkers and local families. Consultations with the community, including the Art in the Park project in 2006, identified an opportunity to involve young people in creating permanent art works to complement the planting; to commemorate the involvement of past hospice residents and to engender a sense of pride in the garden.
