Cloughmills Bio Park

The Old Mill in Cloughmills is a 4.5 acre site, bordered by the Cloughmills Water with the Antrim Hills in the background. It last functioned as a mill about 60 years ago and came into Council ownership 12 years ago. The buildings are still retained on site but this project focuses on the grounds from the Main Street to the area behind the buildings. Our intention is to create a public facility in conjunction with Cloughmills Community Action Team which will promote different environmental objectives. We plan to manage this site following the permaculture principles of earth care, people care and fair shares. The site will be a centre of good practice and through visits, people will be able to learn new skills, participate in activities and access the countryside in a safe and enjoyable manner
