Clubhouse Redevelopment and Modernisation, Apperley Cricket Club, Gloucestershire

This is a project to redevelop and modernise the clubhouse at Apperley Cricket Club in Gloucestershire. The current wooden and brick-built clubhouse is over 40 years old and, due to its age, over usage, and the building methods and materials used in its construction, it has developed a large number of structural concerns. It was also built at a time when no consideration was given to dedicated facilities for either disabled people or women and girls. This project will redevelop and modernise the clubhouse so that it becomes the focal point for sporting and social activities, both for the club’s members and also the entire local rural community, which is becoming increasingly socially isolated and deprived.
