COHORT

The planting of a genetic resource orchard containing examples of every known variety of perry pear tree and of all known other Gloucestershire fruit varieties thus preserving the biodiversity of rarely found fruit trees currently at risk. The public will have full access to the orchard which will be in the nature of a public park which will also contain displays explaining the village’s orcharding heritage. The full project will also include the appointment of a salaried orcharding officer.
