Colchester United Community Sports Trust - Youth Shelter at Shrub End Recreation Ground Skate Park

The provision of a new skatepark facility has been developed from ideas raised by parents in the area and has the support of local councillors, schools and Colchester United Community Sports Trust. A group of residents have joined together to form the Boadicea Skatepark Working Group to develop the project. The grant will contribute towards the installation of concrete skate/BMX equipment including ancillary features such as fencing, footpaths, lighting and a youth shelter. The concrete construction is created on site and will include curves and a bowl that will make this a unique facility in the area and will create minimal noise disturbance. The project will provide: •a facility which can be used by children of all age groups •a safe fun meeting place and reduce anti-social behaviour in the Shrub End community. •an area to exercise to encourage an active lifestyle outside school.
