Combating the barriers that parents and guardians face when deciding to use real nappies

The funding will allow the Community Recycling and Waste Education Officer based in Wrexham to undertake a programme of educational activities for parents and guardians who are deciding whether or not to use real nappies. Through education it is hoped to establish the most appropriate method(s) that can be used in this area to encourage increased numbers of parents and guardians to use washable nappies. This education scheme should remove the following main barriers that are faced by expectant and new parents/guardians: Lack of awareness of the non-terry cotton nappies available, lack of confidence is using washable nappies compared to disposable nappies or for those that have almost decided to use them what style of washable nappy to choose, the initial cost required to purchase a set of washable nappies
