Community Changing Facilities at Willenhall E-ACT Academy

This is a project to provide pool-specific changing rooms for the swimming pool at Willenhall E-ACT Academy. The Academy currently has only one set of changing rooms. This causes cross contamination between those playing outdoor sports (football) and those swimming and playing indoor sports. This mix of mud and water creates a changing room that is very difficult and time consuming to keep clean. A second issue is that having only one changing facility restricts the usage of the swimming pool for the local community. Currently the pool can only be utilised by the community after 4.30pm, when the pupils have finished for the day. By erecting additional, pool specific, changing facilities the pool can be made available for additional usage during the day, with hundreds of additional hours of swimming provision being freed up for public swimming, exercise sessions, mother & toddler groups, primary school swimming lessons, provision for older people and vocational training courses for local unemployed people
