Community garden project at the Children’s Allotment

This project is to improve the site for use by the local community, families, and groups of children. The renovation work will be done through community work-parties and workshops for volunteers and families to build skills, and funds are sought towards installing a compost toilet and a shed.

The Children’s Allotment is a co-operative, made up of community members, local parents and educators. They are transforming a dilapidated plant nursery next to an allotment site off Cricket Road in Oxford into a beautiful space where families and the local community can be outside and connect with nature. The space will provide a welcoming local resource available for community activities and events, and will provide regular childcare and a place where families can spend time with their children, meet other parents and build social networks.
