Community Garden – Todmorden

The project will create a community garden adjacent to The Acorn Centre, a new communiy building (opened 2002) located in the centre of Todmorden.

In order to create the garden area an existing wall needs to be lowered and replaced with railings to allow views of the river and open up the site. The site needs to be levelled and the garden created (planting/paving etc). Grills will be installed on the Centres buildings and CCTV will be installed to ensure the security of the area. The garden will incorporate picnic tables and benches and current derelict out buildings will be refurbished to bring them back into use.

The community garden will have full public access as a public right of way runs along the length of the garden.
