Community Horticulture/Orchard Project (WREN Gift Aid)

Groundwork Mersey Valley will develop a community orchard with local community groups, school, local residents and partners such as the ranger service, PCT.

The project has been identified due to a number of schools and local groups enquiring about food growing schemes in Warrington. The pilot will create an area where free fruit can be grown allowing people to experience fresh fruit on their door step. A member of Groundwork staff will be on hand to advise and train groups in Horticulture. The project will include pathworks, fencing, benches, stakes, compost, mulch, timber and materials for espaliers, wildflower plugs, information signs, entrance signs, ground preperation
