Community Improvements at the Citadel Arts Centre

The physical needs of Citadel participants and the volume of usage by community groups means there are capital elements of the building that need updating. These will improve comfort and access for users thereby providing a more conducive environment to cultural participation and learning:
• Replacement of flooring throughout the building to allow better access (inc wheelchair access)
• Improvements to community/workshop rooms including installation of air conditioning and wall fans
• Auditorium improvements including replacement of chairs and repaint to provide improved rehearsal and performance space for community groups.
The Citadel has consulted widely with both current and potential users of the Citadel including young people, disabled, vulnerable and elderly people, and community groups who have identified these needs.
