Community Orchard, Loughborough – Play Area

The project will provide recreational space and equipment for young people on village land which has long been underused. The play area will be directly adjacent to a 123 tree orchard of rare local tree varieties within a vibrant wildlife habitat.
The Pendulum swing provides pleasure for several children at once. Its basket seat is ideal for children with certain disabilities as the size and shape of the seat allows them more stability and they can play alongside non- disabled friends and carers. The Zipslide is a one-way 20m cableway with a rubber button safety seat suspended by a plastice coated chain and support mechanism and is ideally suited for the nature of the land at the Washdyke, which is gently sloping. The steel support structure is manufactured for heavy duty use and has a tension-steel overhead cable with an accessible cable tensioner for routine maintenance.
