Community Project at St George’s Church

To adapt the church building so that it can be extensively used for general community purposes. This consists primarily of installing a new heating system and providing small meeting rooms. A Feasibility Study showed that the most cost effective heating system in the medium term was to use on-site renewable energies. So the heating system will consist of 8 x 100 metre boreholes, to extract heat from the ground and pass it to a Ground Source Heat Pump and then to new underfloor heating with new thermal stone floors. The GSHP will be run on electricity from 129 roof mounted solar panels which are already installed and operating.
