Community Project, Wash Common

The aim is to gift a church building to the local community. At present the gas fire heating system is inefficient, unreliable and often breaks down. The heating is also inadequate and generally unacceptable for community use. The intention is to insulate the building and minimise heat loss and then to install renewable energy systems. Heat will be extracted from the ground using an 8 x 100 metre deep borehole field connected to a ground source heat pump. Electricity will be generated by a PV array of roof mounted solar panels. This project provides the insulation and reduces heat loss. A follow on project will install the renewable energy systems.
