Community Regeneration Trust North East

Community Regeneration Trust North East was set up in 1996 and is based in South Sheilds. It owns a large community building that is used by a range of community groups including a weekly asylum seeker/refugee drop in, Spanish Class, Parents & Toddlers Group, Craft classes, music classes. There is also an external tenant who rents part of the building. It also runs a large allotment project ‘Green Land Oasis which is a community garden project. It is managed by one member of staff who liaises with the local school, community groups, and volunteers. The group has developed nine derelict allotments to produce fresh produce and an environmental area. Over 2,500 people take part in activities each year.
