Community Synthetic Bowling Green

It is the ambition and objective of this project to create a totally new, high quality synthetic bowling surface, engineered to international tournament and World Bowls standards. The new Green will be highly durable, resilient, increase playing capacity from 6 rinks to 8 rinks, be virtually unaffected by wear and weather conditions.

Importantly, the new facility will enable sport to be played throughout the year, rather than be restricted to a 5 month season. Whilst the playing surface will be engineered to the highest quality standards, it will also provide conditions that emphasise skill over strength, and give further encouragement to young, elderly and disabled participants. The club’s Sports Development Plan aims to increase active participation from the present 4,200 visits, to at least 7,200 visits per annum, within a 3 year time period.
