Community Training Kitchen and Workshop

To develop a Community Training Kitchen (the ‘CTKW’) which will support the local community. The priority and focus of the CTKW will be on disadvantaged, vulnerable and excluded individuals, families and communities. These will include Aberdeen Forward’s, CFINE’s and partners’ volunteers and users in learning how to cook healthy food on a low budget while maximising the use of ‘food waste’; the message from Zero Waste’s ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ campaign will be a priority to encourage the users of the kitchen to cut down their food waste, helping them save money and carbon. As part of our sustainability strategy, the ‘CTKW’ will promote its positive message of reducing waste and saving money to more affluent groups providing basic and advanced cooking lessons and course including ‘themed cuisines’ at reasonable prices. The room will also be suitable to use for other workshops.
