Research and comparative analysis of waste management in Japan and Sweden. Through a study identify effective methods used in achieving sustainable waste management and other options in the waste management field. Following a scoping exercise the research will be pursued through focused case studies which will be highlighted in seminars and meetings. The studies will be disseminated amongst waste managers, local authorities and the industry and considered for effectiveness in the UK.
