New accessible automatic door into the community lounge space, complete with an external access ramp

The lounge area, which was re-ordered to allow community access in 2022 has a manual door with direct stepped access from the church car park. However, wheelchairs, mobility scooter and pushchair users must use the main automatic doors into the congregation space to access the community lounge for activities. This poses health and safety concerns in the event of a fire in the congregational space, as there is no flat egress to evacuate users.

The improvements will allow multiple groups to use the site at any one time and allow direct access to the community room space.
