Connecting People to Nature; Nower Wood Education Centre

Our work at Nower Wood is designed to minimise the risk to ancient woodland by educating the public about nature, improving their awareness of the natural world and helping to foster a greater understanding of the value of natural heritage. To enable us to welcome a greater number and diversity of people we need to urgently update the education centre and surrounding landscape which are no longer fit for purpose.

This project addresses the landscaping of our new vision, to take place once the capital phase is complete. Landscaping will involve the installation of three accessible activity stations – raised dipping pond and mini-beast habitats and a sensory walk – suitable for children and adults with SEND. In addition, the grant would be used to help improve paths for use by all visitors around the vicinity of the new building and for the design, construction and installation of new signage for the woodland reserve.
