Conservation and enhancement of coastal and floodplain grazing marsh at Old Hall Marshes nature reserve

The aim of the project is to enhance and conserve 357 ha of coastal and floodplain grazing marsh (a UK BAP priority) at Old Hall Marshes in Essex for the benefit of overwintering dark-bellied brent geese and breeding lapwing (both amber listed species). It will also help to protect the UK & LBAP species found on the reserve (skylark, bittern, brown hare and water vole). The site will be used to demonstrate best practice in wet grassland management for local landowners and ESA.
