Conservation of BAP Habitats and Species at Beggarboys Nature Reserve

Beggarboys Nature Reserve is leased by the Kemerton Conservation Trust. It is an ancient fenland site which was enlarged by the creation of additional habitats some forty years old. It covers 4 hectares and comprises the following priority habitats identified in the Worcestershire BAP, Ponds and Lakes, Fen, Lowland Wet Grassland, Arable, Woodland and Scrub. It supports a number of BAP species. It adjoins a public footpath which crosses the arable section and borders the scrub area.
The project is to finance a part time warden for the site to manage the habitats and support controlled public access to the wetland area.
