Conserving the woodland habitats at Lower Woods Nature Reserve by setting up a tree nursery

To create a tree nursery at Lower Woods nature reserve so that we can grow new trees from seed collected on site. The new stock is hence of a clearly defined provenance and from a guaranteed local genetic stock. This will allow for the restocking of Lower Woods when we coppice and thin coupes annually and will make the woodland more resilient against climate change and disease outbreaks including ash dieback.
