Projects / Construction of artificial practice area

Construction of artificial practice area

To improve our cricket facilities and provide a safe, quality, four bay coaching and practice area for progression of the club and our numerous and increaing membership which is continually growing due to the coaching work we do in schools and promoting the club.

Our current practice facilities are now 15 years old. This means:

1. Our large youth membership means not all members are getting adequate practice (50 children at youth practice only having 2 practice bays).

2. concrete bases have weather erosion, now having an uneven surface creating dangerous bounce.

3. The practice area is adjacent to the playing pitch, pracice and play cannot happen simultaneously.

4. No netting between the bowling areas to stop the bowler being struck by a ball from the other batter.

5. Bowlers bowl on grass, causing concerns in wet conditions. The surface can be slippy and unsafe and practice must be cancelled.
