Contribution to Purchase of Building for Bexley Mencap to house HQ and Resource Centre

This is a project to purchase and adapt a freehold building to be the HQ and a resource centre for Bexley Mencap. CETB’s grant would be a proportion of the total costs (37%) to meet with the requirement that facilities funded by LCF must be accessible to the public. The building will be a central point of operation from which the Trustees, staff and volunteers would work to plan and implement services in partnership with adults and children with learning difficulties, their parents and carers and the wider community. The new premises will ensure that Bexley Mencap has:
– a valued community resource centrally located in Bexley accessible with excellent transport links
– office accommodation for staff
– interview rooms for client work
– large open space for project work and meetings available for public hire
– disability access
– space for community groups to use/rent
