Controlling Invasive Species on Mull

The primary objective of this project is to control Cotoneaster which is encroaching on the habitat of the Slender Scotch Burnet moth at Kilninian, near Dervaig. We will tackle this partly using our own field staff, but we will also offer training in the control of Invasive Non-native Plants (Cottoneaster, rhododendron and Japanese knotweed) with the aim of providing an opportunity to local residents to be involved in the project, whether as volunteers or as paid contractors. Trainees will learn how to use herbicides and be assessed for NPTC PA1 and PA6AW certificates
