Corpus Christi project

In partnership with Belfast City Council , Community foundation for Northern Ireland and local schools and community groups Michael Davitt GAC are developing a piece of unused and derelict land. This space was the site of an old brick yard and is now rated as toxic and unsuitable land which attracts anti social activities and crime evidenced by PSNI statistics. It is also a site used annually for bonfires and residents fear for their safety in its vicinity.
The aim of the club’s project is to plan a sporting hub for not only ourselves but for local schools and community use. It is also the intention to have a trim trail which will allow Seniors, mother and toddlers and both able and those not so able to enjoy a walk around the complex. There will be a children’s play park a few allotments and outdoor gym. The Community have given full support to the plans and look forward to having a much needed facility.
We have planned to have a Hurling wall which will allow skills development for children.
