Cottage Wood Centre

Proposed work would enable this small Methodist Chapel to function as a community space for the villages of Calthwaite and Plumpton, whilst retaining its role as a place of worship. Neither villages has a community space at present. The work will include updating and re-configuring and redecoration of the premises including, the provision of septic tank and reed-bed toilet facilities (including disabled), kitchen facilities, new heating and plumbing, access ramps and removal of pews.
The Centre anticipates running day retreats, rural education facilities and meeting and activitiy venue; a successful cafe style worship is already increasing the number of people using the facility.
