Cottons Park, Romford - Play Area improvements (008292)

Located within a green flag park, the play area at Cottons Park has become outdated and is in need of renovation. Several items from the play area have needed to be removed entirely due to their poor condition which has left the playground lacking in play value The project will provide access to all by including inclusive play equipment designed for children of varying abilities, ensuring everyone can participate in play. The layout will be accessible for wheelchairs and buggies, with smooth, level surfacing throughout. Clear sightlines and a welcoming design will make the space feel safe and inviting, encouraging families of all backgrounds and needs to enjoy the playground together. As the playground is located near the main entrance it is anticipated that the refurbishment will increase visitor numbers and user engagement. Benefitting the whole community and encouraging active play. The project works also include introducing native pollinator wildflower seeds to the raised beds near the playground. These plants will attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects, supporting local ecosystems.
