Countesswells: Woodland Management and Access Improvements

The project at Countesswells Woods is part of the woods in and around towns (WIAT) funded by the Forestry Commission (Scotland) and Aberdeen City Council. The WIAT project will revitalise woods in Aberdeen City by improving the quality of life for local residents through improving access and woodland management.
Countesswells Woods is a large woodland owned by the Forestry Commission covering 144.5 hectares. Car counter figures gathered by the Forestry Commission show it is the most heavily used of its woodlands in Scotland.
This is a large project which will resurface car parks, deliver new interpretation, 200 metres of new path and the upgrading of 1060 metres of existing path.
Cults, Bieldside and Milltimber Community Council endorses the project and a letter of support is attached.
