Countryside On Your Doorstep

It is proposed to hold a one day public event in Glenrothes aiming to raise awareness of the natural resource available, provide opportunities for members of the public to be involved in conservation tasks for the benefit of wildlife and the enhancement of biodiversity, and to forge links between local people and the woodlands and green spaces of Glenrothes. The event would include opportunities for people to engage in a range of conservation and rural skills tasks and acticities within and around a marquee which would be the main focus point for the event, with the Boblingen Way cycle route featuring as a key route for access. The aim is to take the opportunity to teach and inform and to promote an appreciation of nature within the urban setting. Initial estimates forecast in excess of 50 volunteers. There is potential for follow-up conservation activities.
