Craddocks Moss, Staffordshire - Beaver Enclosure (008298)

Craddocks Moss is a 47 -acre lowland raised bog located to the west of Stoke-on-Trent. This naturally sustainable project will improve biodiversity and is carbon negative. The project will enable the release of a family of beavers into a 43-acre enclosure. The beavers will make the site wetter and control invading scrub. This will restore the biodiversity and natural habitat of the peat bog and create a space that stores carbon.

The project will:
- Install a new 43-acre beaver enclosure
- Source and release a family of beavers to live on the reserve
- Install new viewing platform and trails to enable visitors to view into the peat bog and beaver enclosure.
- Information boards will tell the importance of peat restoration for carbon capture and nature's recovery
- To engage with the local community, enabling volunteering on the reserve and encouraging a passion for native wildlife found on a healthy-functioning peatland.
