Crassula helmsii management at Sandwell Valley

We would like to manage an infestation of crassula helmsii in our Sandwell Valley nature reserve. This highly invasive, non-native species is covering the marsh and spreading into other pond areas, competing with other plant species and having a knock-on effect on our visitor experience and biodiversity. A grant would help us to scrape away the thick blanket of crassula and bury it underground, restoring the area and allowing waders and wildfowl to feed there again. We then plan to control future levels through the controlled and targeted use of herbicides.
